 She's been called a female Michael Owens, but what Christine Sinclair is doing is unparalleled.

 The 20-year-old striker is piling up goals at a faster rate than any women in Canadian soccer history and should surpass Charmaine Hooper as the country's top international goal scorer within the next few years.

 In the last 12 months all the Burnaby, BC native has done is score 10 goals in six games to help Canada within a golden-goal loss in the 2002 U-19 Women's World Championship final, score another seven times in five games in another overtime defeat in the 2002 Gold Cup final, lead the NCAA in goals (26) and break Mia Hamm's tournament scoring record with 10 goals in carrying the University of Portland to its first-ever NCAA title.

 She dedicated her golden-goal in the final to coach Clive Charles, who is battling prostate cancer.

 Sinclair is no dumb jock either, pursuing a life sciences degree with a major in anatomy.

 "We did a couple cadavers last semester," admits the feisty 5-foot-9, 135-pounder, who tackles genetics this term. "I'm not a brain that's for sure."

 Sinclair's favourite non-soccer activities include sleeping, watching television, traveling, laser tag, go karts and golf.

 "Take me off the soccer field and I'm a regular person."

 She defines her musical tastes as "anything except jazz" and confesses to being a former Spice Girls' fan.

 As far as competing in her first Women's World Cup: "It's very exciting; you play soccer to play in a World Cup."
