NWA Canadian titles change hands

The Canadian NWA title picture underwent a massive Western overhaul on the weekend.
Both the Canadian NWA and the Canadian NWA Jr. heavyweight title went from wrestlers based in the Manitoba based CWF to the B.C.-based ECCW.
The new Canadian champ is 'Gorgeous' Michelle Starr. He knocked off E.Z. Ryder Saturday night in Winnipeg. It was Ryder's first loss as champ since he won the title in October 1998 at the NWA 50th anniversary show in Cherry Hill, NJ.
Starr, who was born in California, has been in wrestling for more than 15 years, and this marks the pinnacle of his career so far.
Also on that same show at Sinclair Park, Robby Royce dropped the Canadian NWA Jr. heavyweight belt to 'Tornado' Tony Kozina (as predicted by John Molinaro in his profile of Kozina last week).
Kozina has since thrown out the challenge to current NWA World Jr. heavyweight champion Logan Kaine.
The CWF will be participating on an upcoming ECCW tour through B.C. July 22-25, and many expect the titles to switch hands again then.
The NWA Canadian champs, including the tag champions Toxic Insanity, will all likely be participating in the NWA 51st Anniversary Show, and major Battle for the Belts show in Charlotte, N.C. on September 25, 1999.
