Forrest Gregg, enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame after a celebrated playing career that parlayed into future employment in coaching and athletic administration, has been named the Executive Vice-President of Football Operations for the Ottawa Renegades Football Club.

Gregg, who was a Canadian Football League head coach in 1979 with the Toronto Argonauts and also coached the Shreveport Pirates in 1994 and 1995. Prior to that, Gregg was the Athletic Director at Southern Methodist University from 1990 until he began his second stint as a CFL head coach.

The Texas native had an outstanding playing career in the National Football League, playing right tackle and left guard. Fourteen years were spent with the Green Bay Packers, and included being part of five championship teams, the Super Bowl II winning squad and nine trips to the Pro Bowl. He also earned the Associated Press All-Pro recognition eight times, including four consensus selections (1962-64 and 1966).

A second-round draft pick out of Southern Methodist in 1956, Gregg played 187 consecutive games over nearly a decade-and-a-half with the Packers, which stood as the team's all-time record until Brett Favre eclipsed the mark in 2003.

He finished his playing career with the Dallas Cowboys (1971).

A true student of the game, Gregg then entered coaching, earning head coaching stints with the Cleveland Browns (1975-77) and Cincinnati Bengals (1980-83) before returning to Green Bay to lead the Packers as the ninth coach in team history from 1984-87.

In 1994, 17 years after being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, Gregg was voted to the NFL's 75th Anniversary Team.
