Tuesday, July 11, 2000 Twist's begins motorcycle tourST. LOUIS (CP) -- Tony Twist, the former St. Louis Blues forward, begins the third annual Twister's Iron Horse Tour in Castle Rock, Colo., on July 14, and the 3,200-kilometre motorcycle junket ends in Edmonton on July 22.Other sports figures to ride include John Elway, Detlef Schrempf, Scott Thornton and Luke Richardson. Each rider will raise a minimum of $6,000 in pledges for the Head First Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention of pediatric head injury. Twist, 32, a native of Sherwood Park, Alta., missed the 1999-2000 NHL season after suffering serious leg injuries in a motorcycle accident. The Blues recently announced they would not re-sign him for 2000-2001. He is an unrestricted free agent. Earlier this month, Twist was awarded a $24.5 million US judgement in his court action against the Spawn comic book after claiming its creators named a character after him.
