Second Carter Rycroft may have been the youth injection Kevin Martin needed to put his crew over the top at the Olympic trials this past December. Rycroft has played with Martin for three years but he showed at trials he's ready for the big show.

Rycroft does lack international experience but he is the only one of the four in that predicament. He was a finalist at the Canadian junior junior championships and played well for Martin at the 2000 Brier.

"Nothing I've ever done has been of this magnitude," said Rycroft, who runs a courier service in the oil industry and has curled since age nine. "This is what you play the game for."
