THE SKINNY: First defenceman since Bobby Orr to win the Hart Trophy
(2000)... His size and reach - among the biggest in the NHL - will be a big
advantage on the larger international ice surface... An excellent passer of
the puck, he is one of the Canadian defencemen who might benefit the most
from the absence of the red line in the international game. If forwards can
read off him, that long pass could be an effective weapon... With the depth of
the Canadian blue line, probably won't get the same kind of ice time he does
with the St. Louis Blues where he averages close to 30 minutes a game. But
that could allow him to do more with the minutes he does get... Has learned to
keep his temper under control.
FAMOUS FOR: Playing 30 minutes a game.
INFAMOUS FOR: Partying all night in his younger days.
SHOOTOUT POTENTIAL: Has never had an NHL penalty shot.
