  Therese Brisson is one of the key veterans on Canadaâs national womenâs hockey team. Sheâs won five world tournaments- the last three as team captain- and has represented Canada in 95 international games prior to the start of this season.

  Off the ice she has a PhD from Concordia University in Montreal where she starred with the varsity squad. She was the schoolâs athlete of the year in 1988 and 1989 and was inducted into Concordiasâs sports hall of fame in 1997. She has also taught kinesiology at the University of New Brunswick but was forced to quit that job in order to prepare for the Olympics. She was also an interim executive director for Athletes CAN, an advocate group for Canadian athletes.

What Canada Did
Feb. 21: Canada won gold medal with a 3-2 decision over the U.S. finishing with 5-0 record, while outscoring opponents 35-5.
Feb. 19: Canada def. Finland 7-3 in semifinal play, advancing to Thursday's final against the U.S.
Feb. 16: Canada def. Sweden 11-0, raising record to 3-0 in Group A of preliminary round.
Feb. 13: Canada defeated Russia 7-0, raising record to 2-0 in Group A of preliminary round.
Feb. 11: Canada opened preliminary round with a 7-0 win over Kazakhstan.
